Redwood Clump-ster Mess - Strategizing, sawing, wedging, praying...
Filmed in September, 2019.
Could actually qualify for a "Faller's Corner" video as well. Maybe someday I'll get around to upating this area.
Dialog in the video sums it up.
Redwood country, always challenging. Sometimes fun.
At the time of your viewing this, I may, or may not, be immediately available for custom saw modifications. I am booked out several months regularly. Sometimes I'm out in the bush - making the world a safer place, one stump at a time.
If you are interested in having a saw zipped, please shoot me an email. That is the best, first point of contact.
I fairly busy and am routinely behind so it may take while for me to respond.

Mystery Husqvarna 5 Series Saw vs Stihl 5ooi - Woodlot Session
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
Filmed in early February, 2021. (As far as I can remember…) The prototype 38? testing was being done in late '90s and early '00s. More like 23/25 years ago. This is the first follow-up saw test session to what we witnessed from in January of 2021. Posted in the video published on March 23rd, 2023 - ua-cam.com/video/8YTdKwo3DaQ/v-deo.html This video was shot several years before the “592XP” was ...

Filmed in the third week of January, 2021. Well before anyone knew what the displacement of either the 58?/5 or 59?/2 was. I like to get the "old gurl" (181/281XP) out in the wilds occasionally. I don't have many "couch queens" in all reality. Sans a few 461s in boxes & a 5ooi for testing, everything is "used". We looked around in this "strip". A few boys grew up around there. Not running a goo...
Husqvarna 592xp vs Stihl ms500i - Saw Off Fun
Переглядів 13 тис.Рік тому
Filmed in January, 2021. We have a prototype Husqvarna 5??, which at this juncture no one knew what the displacement was. Or the model designation. Also, we have one of the early prototype 5ooi Max-Flow rain covers. So, lots of R&D testing in this "strip". Providing a little history - My buddy Dave in Ireland had sent me his 5ooi late in February of 2020. While "checking under the hood", I had ...

Filmed in January, 2021. Here we have the 4th tree I had cut down with this saw. Noting in the beginning that cousin Gary found the water line that was supplying the house. OOOPPPSSSS!!!! No worries, it was old hat for the landowners as he "handled it" with ease. So,,, no one outside of engineering knew what it was displacement wise.... At least at this juncture. The preceding three 592xp video...

Filmed in late January, 2023. There is some jesting happening in the commentary - like when I asked the owner what his name was... Some of is hard to delineate due to the wind and saw noise - it was gusting to 30 at times that day. Some of it is "enhanced" with exaggerated head movement - like when Gary wadded it up in the limbs. Or the "I think it's going to roll". Overall, we had a great time...

Filmed in January, 2021. Middle of that month. So, just under two years ago. Through the saw building process, I've made a few great friends. One of whom works at a shop. I was entrusted to use this "mo-chine" in various "gnawing" activities. This was the first instance in a tree. Literally the first outing to the point of I started it for the 1st time that day. This is the same "strip" where I...

Filmed in December, 2022. On a "field trip" with my "Besty". As mentioned, a week and ½ before Christmas. Mr. Ryder wanted to see how it/things go in a brush patch. He "took" a day off from his usual routine to check out what goes on "out in the bush". We came, we sawed, and we tunneled through. Mr. Ryder was kind enough to run point on getting some of the trail knocked out ahead of me. He was ...

Filmed mid-June, 2022. On a personal note, I've been on a tree killing spree since the beginning of June. Soon to be in the 6th month out of town fun. I've had good & not so good wood during the hiatus. This is some of the decent. Honorable mention goes out to my 462. Psy-Ko SS zippkit level with the my "patented" "Torque Tweak" added into the mix. Sporting an Oregon lw 32" bar and some Oregon ...

Filmed early February, 2022. This is a continuation of the same project that we were working on in January 2021 - where we see several 2100 videos & cousin Gary's 088 from last year. Here, the landowner had wanted to leave a "green belt" along the northern perimeter in an attempt to provide a little extra seclusion from the neighbors. Turns out, after watching the wind moving these trees around...

Filmed in June, 2022. After a Saw Shop MakeOver on my 462, some of the early "out in the bush" real world testing. Taken to the Psy-Ko SS zippkit level with my "patented" "Torque Tweak" added into the mix. We are "handling" a 32" Stihl LW bar fairly well considering that this saw has an 8 tooth, or 8 pin, sprocket. My chains are set up to be using a 7 tooth sprocket. Resultantly, my stops (rake...

Filmed in July, 2022. Mr. Green and I on a tree killing spree. NorCal Coast Redwood timber. Not my proudest "hour" stumping... Hanging out, in Outerspace, while trying to get the face in this tree. I've actually fallen off the stump while attempting the same mane...

Hey Hotsaws, Mike here, You're aSmart fella it seems, I was noticing your struggle with the tach the way you are holding it, Why not fashion a holding device that atatches to the handlebar and then all you have to manipulate is that wire on the edt9...Just saying might be easier to get that reading...

Howdy, ever have trouble with different saw's sights/handles have different points of aim, or slop in the bar mount changing it? Thanks

    • @hotsaws101
      @hotsaws101 Місяць тому

I have noticed it is hard to transition from saw to saw to saw. But it's mostly when stumping. The bias cut specifically. Generally speaking, the sights are 90° to the c/l of the bar on all saws. What differs is the handle bends, position, and distance from the pistol grip to front handle bar. A guy gets use to hand positioning on a particular saw. When changing to another, the "minds eye" aspect is off a little bit. So yes, I've noticed the handle bar orientation differential between saws. Mid sized Stihl saws & the upper Husqvarna saws have pretty consistent sized bar studs. 12mm & 9mm respectively. I have seem where the bar groove will be inconsistent though. Thanks for watching.

@@hotsaws101 I like Jonsered “straight across” handles, as well as the full wraps for the older huskies that were the same. 7900 pronounced handle angle is nice when standing or walking but throws me off in the wood. I may try adapting an old husky wrap.

I've run the 395 (mildly ported) and it has left my ownership now and the 592 has replaced it. For bucking big logs and felling larger timber, I just can't find much to fault...maybe if it were a pound lighter out front?..or came with a full wrap handle, out of the box?..skid plate? I don't know. There's just too much good stuff goin' on with this saw... Of note, the 592 is just under 93cc (if memory serves). It's definitely what you'd call a "healthy" beaver.
